Megla M

Fine artist Stamatia Megla launches an exciting new collection for her ‘Megla M’ fashion label – entitled ‘Femininity under Question’ - for Autumn/Winter 2012.

Using fashion as a medium for conceptual art, and with a background in theatre and dance, Megla M unveils this collection to tell a story about the evolution and expression of femininity through the ages.

Historical meanings and attitudes surrounding femininity, as well as changes in perceptions, are portrayed throughout the collection;
inspiration is drawn from 18th and 19th century dressmaking techniques and the rise of self- expression through fashion.

Trine Lindegaard Menswear

As a Junior Fashion PR for Temomanin PR-  I am representing an amazing designer Trine Lindegaard an inspirational fashion designer!

if your interested in her designs please contact me on jason@temomaninpr.com

Trine Lindegaard was born in Denmark, studied at the Istituto Carlo Secoli in Milan then went on to graduate from the Royal College of Art in 2010. Her graduate collection received international press coverage with Lindegaard be- ing labeled one to watch by Vogue. She showed her first collection for S/S12 last year during London Fashion Week.

The inspiration for the new A/W 12 collection came from the designer studying old photographs from the 60’s that captured the freeness of child’s play, with children dressing up as classic childhood characters. Lindegaard also used the backdrop and landscape of the great American desert as inspiration to create the palette that runs throughout the collection – dusty pinks, mustards, em- eralds and sky blues - recreating the innocence of the child’s universe whilst keeping a dreamlike mood.

The exceptional craftsmanship seen in the debut collection is ever present in the A/W 12 collection. Lindegaard achieved the desired feel for the collection by hand painting fabrics with muted tones and organic patterns, bringing luxu- rious silks to life.

Wars Recollected

My aim here was to create a surreal and underground portrayal of wars. I juxtaposed the imagery of war with chic and bohemian elements. The contrast of contemporary fashion components with the dark subject matter symbolizes the culture of the war itself.

Greek War

American C

War In Italy

Cold War

French Revolution

Women Of The 1950s

I feel the final images I have created for the 3rd year Illustration Work-in-Progress show are some of the most exciting pieces of work that I have created. They are inspired by the classical Tom Ford campaigns as well as photography from the 1950s. I am very proud of these images, as I went for a different approach in which I wanted to create a sophisticated feel, but also retain the edge and boldness of my original style.

I wanted to recreate the 1950s by using the fashion and style of the 50s decade, and changing it by portraying a modernized version. I did this by juxtaposing the models I photographed in a more confident and free pose, while the 1950s women are posed typically in a standard housewife role.

In part, these images are a celebration of International Women's Day. :)

How Gay Is 1950s!

I also created a simple poster as part of my 1950s project, to portray homosexuality in the 1950s even though it was very secretive at the time.

But I'm sure that Rock Hudson would have been proud!

Recreating The 1950's

The 1950s is a decade that I adored! I love 50s fashion (especially women's fashion); sqaure shoulders and short skirts were replaced by the soft femininity of Christian Dior's "New Look" silhouette, with its sweeping longer skirts, fitted waist, and rounded shoulders, which in turn gave way to an unfitted, structural look in the later 1950s.

Mood Board
I wanted to recreate the 1950s with its fashion and style, but with a modern twist.

I feel women were seen as quite banal during the 50s, and wanted to subvert this by portraying the women of the 50s in a more colourful and vibrant manner. In a way, my project celebrates feminism and is dedicated to International Women's Day!

Makeup Alive

Makeup Alive…creating a series of images of models with a unique style of makeup and editing.

A collaboration with a wonderful makeup artist, the one and only Dita Tilhen!

I wanted to create a vibrant signature makeup and bring out and refine the colour and design of the makeup post-production.

This is a small project of mine to fit in with the current trend of fashion and beauty photography; I, however, wanted to create a more vivid and distinctive approach.

I'd love to hear criticism and opinions? :)

Renaissance Reborn Pt 2

A small project for university, my initial idea was to create imagery based on the Bible, in a more contemporary and fashionable way, using the collage of photography.

The Bible is reborn: the stories I re-created are 'Lot's Wife', 'Golden Calf', and 'Mary Magdalene'.

Mr Cazwell! And The Snog Commercial!

First of all Mr. Cazwell you are absolutely hilarious! I love the new genre of Hip Homo! Hehe so funny! Ok ok, it is very very TRASHY! With a capital T! But why not? It works, and it has a great kitschy element! At least he's not hiding it, and it sells! That's what's important...Lady Gaga and Rihanna do it, but the difference is they have a bigger budget - money buys a lot of high standard elements, but they are nevertheless all avant-garde inspired.

I must give credit to Cazwell for this funny and fresh concept. Cazwell is one of today’s most unique and charismatic performers in NYC, who, in his own words, describes his style as “if Biggie Smalls ate Donna Summer for breakfast.”

Cazwell with his team of boys promoted the tasty and healthy choice of Snog yogurt! No one will refuse a Snog yogurt now! Yum!
